Sharing Task -Build up

In a Sharing Task that elicits a modeling strategy of building up, students consider how many snacks each person will eat and then build up using repeated addition or multiplication or a visual model illustrating these ideas.

The resources in this section will help you implement Building Up Sharing tasks in your school or classroom. Each example will provide planning slides, student handouts, viewing guides for video, and annotated student work. The videos of modeling lessons vary in length, from short clips that feature a particular lesson segment to longer clips that provide lesson overviews. Videos can be shown in professional learning settings or viewed individually to support planning and reflection.
